EMBER

DESCEND, FOR THE LIGHT ABOVE HAS FORSAKEN YOU EMBER is a dark cinematic 2.5D platformer set within a beautiful and merciless world. Descend through a procession of handcrafted places, where every chamber bears its own trial, every mechanism conceals its purpose, and every living thing hungers for your end. There shall be no safe road beneath your feet. There shall be no mercy in the jaws of the deep. There shall be only the path before you—and the sorrow that follows behind. LET EVERY STEP BE MEASURED Movement is your only prayer. Responsive controls and strict timing make every jump, landing, and reaction matter. Read the shape of the world, learn the rhythm of its machinery, and place each step with care. For the careless shall fall. And the hesitant shall be taken. DEATH COMES IN A SINGLE TOUCH There are no wounds to endure and no second chances to spend. Traps and creatures kill in a single hit. Observe what destroyed you. Remember what the darkness revealed. Return wiser than before—and perish better, should wisdom fail you. GO DOWN, AND BEHOLD WHAT WAS BURIED Descend through a focused sequence of handcrafted locations, each introducing new hazards, creatures, and mechanics. Old signs speak through dying projectors. Bells burn like sacred lanterns and mark the places to which the fallen may return. Forgotten machines stir beneath the earth, obeying laws written long before your coming. The deeper you go, the less the world remembers the light. THE SCRIPTURE OF THE DEEP Precise and responsive platforming Death from a single hit Handcrafted, linear locations New hazards and mechanics throughout the descent Hostile creatures and grotesque encounters Cinematic 2.5D presentation Hand-drawn animation and a stylized dark world Keyboard and controller support And the light gave life unto all things. Yet beneath the earth, even light learned to hunger.
