In a time long forgotten, when the world was still young and newly sung into form by the Gods, humanity lived gently within nature’s pulse. They moved with the tides, the seasons, and the shifting winds — yet unlike the other creatures, they were fragile. They had no claws for defence, no fur for warmth, no wings to escape the storm. Seeing this, the Gods gathered with the spirits of ocean and mountain, plant and animal, and forged a sacred pact. Each being would offer humanity a gift — warmth, shelter, food, guidance — and in return humans would honour and protect the balance of the world. Thus the first totems were given, and the bond between humans and the living land was set. But the Gods saw a deeper truth. Humanity carried within them a spark none of the other beings had: the gift of the mind — the ability to imagine, remember, reason. A gift bright enough to build worlds… or to break them. They knew that if the mind ever drifted free from nature’s rhythm, it could lead the people astray. So the Gods gave Fire — not only to warm and cook, but as a living presence, a guide, a ritual tether to keep the mind balanced with the breath of the earth. And they asked the Dragon, eldest of the ancient beings, to watch over what humans could not carry. The Dragon agreed to hold the deepest secrets of a good life — to guard them in the dark, and return them if humanity ever forgot the path. For a long age, the pact held. Dragons roamed the skies, spirits walked openly, and humans lived in harmony, guided by ritual and flame. But epochs passed. Memories faded. Power whispered. Rituals were abandoned, Fire was taken for granted, and the mind — unanchored — wandered into jealousy and greed. The old beings withdrew into myth, waiting for a time when they would be needed again. As imbalance spread, nature rose in warning: winds that tore, floods that reshaped valleys, Fire that cleansed. From this upheaval, a new age dawned — one of uncertainty, but also of possibility. Now, in this era of renewal, echoes of the old pact return in the dreams of a chosen few. Drawn to a land where the presence of the Gods still lingers, guided by the quiet voice of Fire, you are one of these seekers. The Dragon sleeps, but its promise remains. Let Fire light your way as you journey to awaken what was forgotten — and rediscover the secrets of living in harmony with a world that still remembers you.
