kapih

Kapih is a classic run-n-gun shooter platformer, with action packed levels and boss battles. The visuals and music are inspired by the many lost in time art-styles of India. We follow the adventure of our protagonist Vaanar (monkey) who is a common kid in a colorfully imagined ancient India. Gameplay is classic run-n-gun with 8 discrete shooting directions when using D-pad (classic), as well as continous angles when using the thumbstick (modern) . The controls are tight and not physics based. As you advance through the game, unlock an arsenal of new weapons and power-ups to enhance your playstyle, making each level an exhilarating and strategic experience! Multiple Game Modes While run-n-gun is the primary mechanic, Kapih also features additional game modes such as horizontal shoot-em-up and vehicle levels. Craving some bullet hell action? We got you covered! While the game can be played with a keyboard, we recommend playing with a controller. Local Couch Co-op Vaanar is the protagonist around whom the main campaign revolves, but if a co-op player joins, he is accompanied by his charming female-vaanar friend named “Bindu” . She is an equally great fighter as him: whether you play as Vaanar or Bindu , your mechanics and playstyle remains the same. Atleast one controller is required and necessary for playing local multiplayer i.e. one player can play with a keyboard, and another with a controller. Again, we recommend both players to play with controllers. Epic Boss Battles Gear up for heart-pounding excitement as you face epic boss battles at the end of each level, where every victory brings you one step closer to legendary glory! CG Animated Cutscenes Stories are always told from the point of view of the heroes and the leaders. However the stories of the followers are always forgotten and remain untold. Kapih addresses this with a story of a common kid, which takes place at the backdrop of events of the Ramayana , one of the greatest epics of South East Asia. It is a story of how an otherwise ordinary life is suddenly rattled up by extraordinary events which in turn shape his destiny. Immerse yourself in stunning CG animated cutscenes that bring to life a captivating story inspired by the ancient legends unfolding an unforgettable adventure with every level. With Kapih , we pay our homage, all the way from India, to our beloved retro classics. We retain the original but add modern elements, transformed and combined with Indian cultural sensibilities. In a world of ever increasing complexity in video games, we aspire to offer an experience with simple yet fun mechanics, tight controls, never before seen visual and musical treat, in a potently nostalgic package.
