Primus

RISE FROM THE PITS. COMMAND THE ARENA. You are a Lanista, a master of flesh and steel. Starting at the bottom of a brutal 100-rank hierarchy, you must build a legacy from the blood-soaked dust of provincial pits. Recruit a squad of specialized gladiators, manage your Ludus, and outmaneuver eight rival factions in a desperate race to the Emperor’s Colosseum. THE CROWD IS A FICKLE GOD In the arena, the blades in front of you are only half the battle. The thousands of eyes watching from the stands are your true judge. The Hype System turns every match into a high-stakes tug-of-war. Fight with Style: Use flashy showboat moves and brutal finishers to win the crowd's favor. Face the Consequences: A bored crowd is a dangerous one. If you fail to entertain, expect stones, fire pots, or rotten fruit to rain down on your gladiators. The Underdog’s Hope: Down to your last man? Fight with enough grit to trigger "Sympathy" events, turning a desperate loss into a legendary comeback. POLLICE VERSO: THE IMPERIAL VERDICT As you climb the ranks, the stakes grow lethal. In the higher tiers, the generic mob is replaced by The Emperor . When the "Crowd Pulse" hits, the camera zooms into the Imperial balcony. A thumb held horizontal, the wait. Then, the verdict: Thumb Up (Glory): The Emperor is pleased. Your team is blessed with healing, divine buffs, or a rain of Denarii. Thumb Down (Death): Hubris is punished. An Imperial archer may fire into the pit, or a trapdoor may release a hungry lion to finish your "boring" warriors. DEEP TACTICAL MANAGEMENT Between the blood and the sand lies the strategy of the Ludus. 11 Unique Classes: From the shield-bearing Murmillo to the dual-wielding Dimachaerus, build a balanced 4-man squad tailored for the terrain. The Road to Rank 1: Navigate an expedition circuit through five tiers of Roman arenas. Each venue has unique traits, from the slippery marble of urban theaters to the burning sands of the southern pits. The Three Scars System: Death is permanent, but legends are forged in pain. Every gladiator can survive two near-death "Scars," but the third is the end of their story. A LIVING WORLD OF RIVALS You are not alone in your climb. Eight other Rival Luduses are competing for the same Rank 1 title. Dynamic Leaderboard: Watch your rivals rise and fall as you complete expeditions. Personalities & Betrayal: Form fragile alliances with a "Merchant" Lanista for trade, or find yourself hunted by a "Jackal" who poisons your champions before a big match. High-Stakes Wagers: Encounter rivals on the road and duel for Denarii, rare gear, or even the ownership of their best gladiator. CAN YOU REACH THE COLOSSEUM? The Emperor is waiting. The lions are hungry. The sand is thirsty. Will you be forgotten in the pits, or will your name be carved into the stone of history?
