Travel the vast oceans of an alien planet in this roguelite colony management game where you must build and thrive aboard a massive ocean-faring ship. Stranded on an unknown world, you must seek essential resources to power vital production chains, manage crew morale and needs as you build your mobile colony, and defend yourself against all manner of existential threats in your quest for answers. Rogue Carrier puts you in charge of an interstellar expedition gone wrong. As the sentient planet reacts to your presence, will you secure a path to escape the world? Or does your fate rest at the bottom of its endless oceans, taking your experience forward into future attempts? Your primary objective on arrival was to explore the surface of this distant planet and analyze its anomalies to see what scientific secrets they might unlock – the objectives remain the same despite the catastrophic loss of your mothership, but their ultimate purpose has changed from understanding to survival. Travel across the expansive ocean world and navigate treacherous waters as you seek vital resources and information that can help you survive and escape, building and sending out freighters and recon craft to explore the islands, cities, and points of interest that dot the planet. Progress through objectives and side-quests to unlock technological advances that in turn enable you to achieve additional objectives, but be careful of the choices you make along the way. Your decisions determine what options become available to you when engaging with the world, what buildings and production chains you’ll be able to establish, and how smoothly your expedition progresses for any given run. Learn as much as you can about the planet before it overwhelms and destroys you, engaging with unique narrative events and interacting with indigenous species to unlock information and progression that can aid in future runs. As your R&D labs find ways to exploit the local environment, you’ll periodically be presented with choices of technological advances, each unlocking new buildings that tap into or provide additional resources for your expedition and its crew. Solar panels and the batteries that power your infrastructure, farms that produce various kinds of food, housing for your crew, and factories that manufacture construction material, mining tools, defensive equipment and more – there are over 80 building options that can influence your run in various ways. Unlock unique combinations and opportunities under the right circumstances, taking advantage of adjacency bonuses as you work with limited space and challenging layouts. Establish production chains with interchangeable resources that best suit what you’re able to find and acquire, all while carefully managing the various needs of your people and the ship alike, from food and entertainment to power for various essential components. Space is limited on the ship, forcing you to choose between available options, and improper planning can lead to more precarious layouts – as the ocean responds to your presence, an imbalanced ship will capsize more readily, and without redundancies, you might find yourself powerless or otherwise incapacitated after a particularly vicious attack. Experiment with unique combinations of buildings, layouts, and resources to unlock powerful synergies and secure your future. Your presence on the planet, and the very actions you must take to keep the expedition alive, will inevitably draw attention. The planet is a living thing, and your disruptions will cause it to fight back, responding with everything at its disposal from inclement weather that can capsize your ship to deadly wildlife that can tear it apart. The more you damage the local ecosystem, the more dangers you will face – will you pursue clean energy and reduced waste output to prolong each run at the cost of slow progress? Or will you embrace polluting the world and going to war with the planet in order to progress more quickly, arming yourself against the trouble that may bring, and hoping to survive? Develop powerful weapons to defend yourself against increasingly dangerous threats as a run goes on, relying on a combination of evasive actions, devastating firepower, and strategic prowess to stay alive. From giant aquatic beasts that close the gap to ram and rip apart your hull to landbound creatures that strike from afar, you’ll need to prepare for a variety of threats as you make progress on your expedition. The destruction of your ship is not the end of your journey – the efforts and learnings of one run can be used to make progress across others. Explore multiple timelines, unlocking variations within each, and face the unique challenges and opportunities each one provides. Uncover the mysteries of your oceanic prison across five potential endings and fifty scenarios and variants – your journey exists across multiple parallel universes, each different in many ways, though all providing insight into the mysterious planet, its inhabitants, and the system within which it exists. — Take on the challenge of managing an expedition through treacherous waters, and face the wrath of a planet that responds to your every move as you seek answers to questions unknown.
