Torrent Empire

Torrent Empire is a terminal-based, immersive file-sharing site management and hacking simulator. Do you want to create and manage your own torrent site in the early 2000s? In this era when file sharing was just emerging, your goal is to crack newly released software, add them to your torrent site, increase your visitor count as much as possible, and leave a mark in the digital world. Of course, this requires careful planning. The decisions you make will affect the growth and survival of your torrent site. If you grow too fast and carelessly, authorities might come after you—unless you know how to evade them. If you neglect your users, they might abandon your site. Balancing these two is crucial. As the game progresses, new software is released, technologies change, and you need to adjust your strategy accordingly. What can you do? Different File Types and Mini-Games Games are quite popular, but users will also eagerly await applications. And let’s not forget operating systems. Various mini-games await you to crack these. An unsuccessful site manager is quickly noticed—don’t forget that! Advanced Upgrades You’ve cracked the software; now you want to upload them to your site to get people to notice you. I assume you don’t expect high internet speeds or 1 TB of storage space in the year 2000. Therefore, as you earn money, you need to upgrade these. Who wants to wait dozens of minutes to upload a software? Advertisements Ah, of course… the best way to make money is through ads! Yes, your site users won’t be happy about it, but if they want to continue using this service, there’s a price to pay, and they have to endure it. Choose the most profitable among banner, pop-up, or misleading ad offers. Hack Missions Need more money? You might need to infiltrate some companies’ servers for extra income. Who would entrust such a task to a novice hacker? First, you need to prove yourself in the market. Then, some will approach you with small requests. If you don’t turn them down, they might give you some money in return. I don’t know if I need to say this, but the authorities won’t be too pleased about this situation. Competition with Rival Sites If your torrent site is doing well, rival sites naturally won’t be too happy about it. Therefore, you can expect them to launch various attacks against you constantly. Actually, when you think about it, maybe this is their way of showing affection towards you.
