Sultan's Decree

Rule an Empire. Reshape a Century. Sultan's Decree is a card-based strategy game that puts you in control of the Ottoman Empire across 623 years of history. From the dynasty's founding in 1299 to the birth of the Turkish Republic in 1922, every swipe of your finger determines the fate of millions. Balance the demands of four powerful factions -- the Ulema (religion), the Reaya (people), the Military (janissaries), and the Treasury (wealth) -- as you guide 36 sultans through an era of constant change. A Legacy That Never Resets Unlike other strategy games, your choices don't disappear when an era ends. The flags you raise or lower persist across centuries. Decisions made by an early sultan will ripple forward, shaping the challenges and opportunities faced by rulers hundreds of years later. This is history as a living system -- one where every action has consequences that echo through the ages. Gameplay at Your Fingertips The core mechanic is elegantly simple: swipe left or right on 500 hand-crafted cards to issue decrees that affect your four faction meters. Each decision strengthens one faction while weakening another. Will you appease the Ulema and risk angering the people? Invest in the military and watch your treasury dwindle? Every turn presents new moral dilemmas drawn from real historical events and themes. Features 500 unique, hand-written cards spanning 8 distinct historical eras 36 different sultans, each with their own storyline and challenges 385 character portraits rendered in authentic Ottoman miniature painting style Persistent world state -- choices carry weight across centuries 10 original orchestral music tracks composed for historical authenticity 11 immersive sound effects that bring the empire to life Highly replayable -- average playthroughs last ~432 turns and feature ~10 unique deaths per run Deep narrative woven with Ottoman history, religion, politics, and culture Educational value -- learn real history while you play An Empire in Art Every character portrait is lovingly rendered in the distinctive style of Ottoman miniature paintings -- a visual language that captures the grandeur and complexity of the empire. The artistic direction immerses you in the period while the strategic depth keeps you coming back for just one more turn. The Question is Simple. The Answer is Never. Sultan's Decree challenges you to navigate the impossible: rule justly while surviving politics, defend your borders while feeding your people, and maintain cultural identity while the world changes around you. There are no perfect solutions, only choices -- and the echoes of those choices will follow you for centuries. Are you ready to reshape history?
