Will you uncover the truth buried beneath Carrion City… Or become just another skin stapled to the walls? About This Game The Skin Stapler is a narrative-driven horror experience set in a decaying 1980s city drowning in crime, drugs, and moral collapse. Inspired by VHS slashers, grindhouse cinema, and noir crime dramas, the game blends unsettling horror with dark, B-movie humor to deliver a short but unforgettable descent into madness. You play primarily as Detective Dick Slater , a burned-out veteran cop tasked with tracking a serial killer stalking the city’s streets. Known only as The Skin Stapler . You'll also get to play as a full cast of characters as they are stalked by The Skin Stapler . The Skin Stapler primarily targets young women in their homes and workplaces, skins them, and staples their flesh to nearby walls, leaving behind grotesque displays and distorted audio tapes that taunt the police and hint at something deeper beneath the city. A Short, Focused Horror Experience The Skin Stapler is designed to be completed in one sitting and prioritizes atmosphere, story, and tension over combat or traditional survival mechanics. Multiple Playable Perspectives Experience Carrion City from different viewpoints, including a hardened veteran detective and ordinary civilians in the final moments of their lives. Each perspective adds context, contrast, and emotional weight to the investigation. Grindhouse Slasher Atmosphere Inspired by 1980s VHS horror and exploitation films, the game features stylized violence, neon-lit decay, and an unapologetically grim aesthetic that blends horror with dark, B-movie humor. Dark Humor Amid the Dread Bleak situations are punctuated with dry wit and grim comedy, creating tonal contrast that keeps the horror sharp and unpredictable. Designed for Horror Fans Built for players who appreciate slow-burn tension, unsettling imagery, and story-first horror experiences that linger long after the credits roll.
